E62 Waste audit for MBA students and Sloan staff

Ever wonder if your plastic water bottles should be emptied before you recycle them? Or if that greasy pizza box is too contaminated and just has to go in the trash? Do you think about how much trash you consume and what happens to it when you throw it away?

Here’s your opportunity to look smart in front of your new classmates as they hover in-between the compost and recycling bins and ask which one should I use? Join the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative and the MIT Office of Sustainability to help sort and weigh E62’s waste and collect data to improve overall campus sustainability efforts. We will provide you with gloves to keep your hands clean and Tyvek jumpsuits to keep your clothes clean (optional). We will be doing the sorting outside near the loading dock; we suggest you wear sun screen and/or a hat.
