Lilly Heilshorn
Sustainability Metrics Researcher

Lilly Heilshorn is a senior at MIT studying Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Product Design and Sustainability. She is involved in the STARS recertification process at MITOS and is interested in learning more about metrics for quantifying sustainability. Lilly is also actively involved with MIT D-Lab, Camp Kesem, and performs as Tim the Beaver at MIT community events. Outside of MIT, she loves to travel and scuba dive!

Rudiba is a rising senior majoring in Computer Science and Biology with a Minor in Business Management. She loves taekwondo, baking, trying to new things and anything outdoorsy. She is passionate about sustainability and excited to be part of the MITOS Summer Cohort.

Caroline Liu
Design out Waste Researcher

Caroline is a first-year student in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) program, pursuing a joint Masters in Mechanical Engineering and MBA. She is passionate about sustainable supply chains and products. Within MITOS, she works on operations for the Waste Watcher’s team and developing impact metrics that better capture circularity. Outside of campus, she enjoys cooking, rock climbing, and walking her dog along the Charles River.

Wacuka Ngata
Sustainability Researcher

Wacuka is a sophomore double majoring in Materials Science & Engineering and Business Management. Passionate about storytelling, she is dedicated to shaping the sustainability narrative. She spent the summer researching ways to optimize green data centers with MCSC for sustainable computing. At MITOS, she is analyzing MIT’s scope three emissions related to cloud computing purchases and developing strategies to lower them. Along with sustainability, Wacuka enjoys exploring new places, playing the piano,and crafting ideas into tangible realities with others.

Climate and Sustainability Scholar

Delphine is a junior majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a minor in Urban Planning. She is interested in creating a decarbonized and climate-resilient built environment. She is a MCSC Climate and Sustainability Scholar collaborating with MITOS on a project to identify and mitigate flood risk for campus infrastructure. During her free time, she enjoys reading, singing with her acapella group, and riding her bicycle around Boston.

Ria Verensia
Sustainability Researcher

Ria Verensia is an MEng student in Climate, Environment, and Sustainability at MIT's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with research focusing on soil moisture and drought events. She collaborates with the MIT Office of Sustainability (MITOS) on projects that enhance resilience and adaptation, such as improving stormwater infrastructure, enhancing flood risk communication, and assessing heat risks. Motivated by her previous professional experience and expertise in water resources engineering, Ria aims to develop practical and impactful sustainability solutions on campus. Outside her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys staying active through swimming, dancing, and jogging.
