Emmy Award-winning storyteller and explorer Richard Vevers invites you to see the ocean in a completely new way.

Best known for his work on the Netflix documentary Chasing Coral and for pioneering Google Street View underwater, Vevers now leads Room 71 at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, an initiative transforming how we understand and communicate ocean science.

In this talk, Vevers challenges what we think we know about the ocean. Drawing on insights from leading oceanographers and explorers, he reveals how human perception often distorts our understanding of the vast and dynamic world beneath the surface.

Through compelling stories and imagery, he reintroduces the ocean as it truly is—complex, surprising, and deeply connected to our lives. You may never look at the ocean or our planet the same way again.
