Buildings are one of the top emitting sectors, contributing to 40% of greenhouse gas emissions. Clusters of buildings like universities can be the top emitters in a community. Universities and cities across the US are working hard to decarbonize, and are looking into technologies like Thermal Energy Networks (TENs).

This showcase brings together students, campus administrators, government officials, industry professionals, and community members to discuss the consideration and implementation of Thermal Energy Networks on campuses for rapid, cost-effective decarbonization

We aim to demystify decarbonization, support student and community action, and foster dialogue and collaboration!

You can find our draft program here, including an exciting lineup of panelists and student poster presentations. Lunch will be provided. Some programming will have a virtual option if there is enough interest.

Geo@MIT is a student consulting group that equips students with cutting-edge research in thermal energy systems to accelerate the decarbonization of campuses and cities. Stay in touch by following us on LinkedIn!
