Thought Leadership

Building on the momentum of our fall Fresh Food Bag program, MIT Farm, MITOS, and MIT Anthropology are piloting our first-ever 10-week Summer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program at MIT in partnership with the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project. With support from the UA and GSC, this program will bring fresh, affordable vegetables directly to campus. Review the details below, and check back here for updated information about signing up.

What's a CSA?

For those new to the concept, a CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture - it's a partnership where community members buy a share of a farm’s harvest in advance. This model provides farmers with essential upfront income, and in return, members receive a regular supply of fresh produce.

MIT/New Entry 10-Week Farm Share Details

  • Dates: June 17 – August 19, 2026
  • Pick-Up: Wednesdays at MIT Health (E23)
  • Regular/MIT Employee Share: $425 ($42.50 per week)
  • MIT Student Share (discounted, limited supply): $250 ($25.00 per week)
  • Registration: Opens in April—stay tuned

Want to Share a Box?

If you’d love to participate but want to split the cost and the veggies with a fellow MIT community member, we are testing a matching process. Email susyj@mit.edu and we’ll send you a “CSA Partner Matchmaker” form. We will do our best to pair you with another student or employee before official registration launches.

A Zero-Waste Initiative

We are striving to make this a zero-waste CSA. To achieve this, we will use reusable totes for all pickups and ensure that any surplus vegetables are donated.
