Our Initiatives

Sustainability@MIT is pursuing initiatives to enhance sustainability on a variety of fronts. Feel free to contact the leaders listed below for more details.

  • Speakers - Catharina Lavers
    The club hosts world-renowned leaders in sustainability to enhance the MIT community's understanding of the latest sustainability research and practice.
     
  • Events - Eva Cheung, Kathreen Thome
    The club brings together members of the sustainability community, including MIT students and faculty, as well as leaders in industry to share knowledge and ideas.
     
  • Campus and community greening projects - Carrie Brown, Chris Kempes
    In MIT's hands-on spirit, students, faculty, and staff are engaged in efforts to reduce energy, water, and material usage; research and activate behavioral change; and transform MIT and the surrounding community to the campus of the future.
     
  • Community activism - Froy Sifuentes, Aaron Thom
    The club is a strong supporter of organizations and actions to make Cambridge, Boston, Massachusetts, and the world a more sustainable place. We hold close ties with groups like Mass Power Shift, Power Vote, Livable Streets, etc, to attend their events and support their activities.

    Ensure that alumni are actively involved and constantly engaged in the club's activities.
